Proposal of the Thoreau Farm Trust, Inc. : in response to the Town of Concord's RFP #77 for the lease of the Thoreau Birth House located at 341 Virginia Road, 1999 Mar. 31.

The Thoreau Farm Trust, Inc. proposes to enter into a long-term agreement with the Town of Concord for the lease of 341 Virginia Rd., the birthplace of Henry David Thoreau. The Trust agrees to undertake to raise the funds for the restoration of the house as well as for its maintenance and use. The Trust will hire an architect and manage contracts for the restoration. After restoration the Trust will utilize the house to teach about Thoreau and as a center for education and to study Concord's agricultural history. The house will be open to the public for limited periods and will operate within the terms contained in Section V of RFP #77.
